The Tulane University Health Sciences Center legislative affairs department works in conjunction with Tulane University's Office of Government/Agency Affairs to facilitate communication between Tulane University health sciences departments, the state Legislature and related agencies.

The department promotes legislative support in the areas of health care, medical education and research. In addition, legislative affairs works to promote Tulane University Health Sciences Center as an information resource for the Governor, members of the state legislature and state agencies involved in health policy issues.

The mission of the legislative relations program is served through the efforts of the University's State Government Affairs Coordination Committee, the statewide Legislative Advocacy Network, comprised of alumni, faculty and friends of Tulane University, as well as through the Legislative Hotline.
