TEMIG, the Tulane University Medical School Emergency Medicine Interest Group, is one of the largest student groups on campus. With a total of 168 dues paying members, TEMIG counts over one quarter of the medical student body among its membership.

Organized thirteen years ago in order to facilitate interest in Emergency Medicine among Tulane Students, TEMIG has become instrumental in offering early clinical opportunities to medical students. TEMIG has become the facilitator for students with an interest in Emergency Medicine at a school with no Emergency Medicine Department.

TEMIG works closely with the Louisiana State University Department of Emergency Medicine at Charity Hospital, the only Emergency Medicine residency program in New Orleans. With Dr. James Moises, Emergency Physician and Tulane Faculty Member, and Dr. Trevor Mills, LSU's Emergency Medicine Residency Director as advisors, TEMIG provides a direct link to one of the most prestigious programs in the country.

TEMIG is not only for those students wishing to enter Emergency Medicine!

By providing an open observation program in the Emergency Department, students can obtain clinical exposure in their pre-clinical years. This is in addition to clinics held throughout the year in suturing, IVs and intubation. TEMIG is a great organization for anyone looking to gain early clinical experience at Tulane.
