Sushi-rolling
In combination with SARBA, TAMSA sponsored a sushi-rolling workshop taught
by Chef Hao Gong from Sushi Cafe on Magazine Street. Over 50 people joined
Chef Gong in rolling crunchy rolls, soft shell crab roll, tuna rolls,
as well as a variety of nigiri.
Lunar
New Year
Each year on Lunar New Year, TAMSA distributes information cards about
Lunar New Year to members of the students body at Tulane University.
Bubble
Tea Day
TAMSA makes bubble tea for the medical students on a surprise bubble tea
day.
Movie
screenings
On November 17, TAMSA did a screening of the movie Ashtanga,
NY, a yoga documentary. Indian food was provided.
Introduction
to Zen Buddhism
On November 28, TAMSA provided an introduction to Zen Buddhism with Robert
Collins from the New
Orleans Zen Temple. Students received a short introduction to Zen,
followed by a brief period of sitting meditation.
Glucose
screenings
Each year at the American Medical Student Association health fair, TAMSA
provides glucose screenings and medical information for residents from
local communities.
