Jacque-mo’s – Popular (some would say trendy) place for new-style southern food in an atmosphere at least as interesting as the menu.
Commander’s Palace – Famous New Orlean’s fare: classy (and expensive) for dinner, but their lunch is a poorly kept secret – reasonable prices and 25¢ martini’s.
Elizabeth’s – Awesome breakfast/brunch, though a little out of the way. Try the praline bacon.
The Ugly Dog Saloon – Good BBQ on the cheap.
Mat & Naddy’s – Slightly classier and more expensive than Jacque-mo’s but with a much quieter atmosphere, great for dates.
Dante’s Kitchen – Another good restaurant on River Road, co-owned by Dr. Yate’s son.
Le Crepe Nanou – Cajun creperie, unique food and good atmosphere.
