Tulane Medical Art Society

The Tulane Medical Art Society (affectionately known as "MedArt") is one of the
three longest-running medical student organizations at Tulane. Simply put, the
purpose of MedArt is to provide a forum for and encourage the development and
exhibition of artistic talent within the Tulane medical community. With the
financial support of the Medical Student Government and donated prizes from the
New Orleans business community, MedArt sponsors a two-day art exhibition each
semester--usually in coordination with the C. Thorpe Ray Internal Medicine
Society's Wine and Cheese gala in the fall, and Family Weekend in the spring.

All members of the Tulane medical community--including students, faculty, staff,
and administration--may show their art at each of the exhibits. Additionally,
medical student submissions are eligible for consideration in the awarding of
first, second, and third place honors (each with a prize) as determined by an
independent panel of three judges.

Finally, the Tulane Medical Art Society coordinates "Art in the ER", a student
service organization focused on meeting the needs of Pediatric ER patients and
their families through support and cheer.
