American Medical Women's Association

American Medical Women’s Association serves as a vision and voice for women in medicine. AMWA works hard to advodate for women in medicine and women’s health in our community. AMWA supports Breast Cancer Awareness month by sponsoring school-wide Yoplait lids collections, fundraising for the Susan C. Komen Breast Cancer foundation, and participating in Race for the Cure. Women’s cardiovascular health and other important issues are discussed at lunch time meetings. We also sponsor a female physician mentoring program and host a Women in Medicine panel to get female medical students a forum to address issues that women face throughout their medical careers.
