Facts and Figures:

  • Prostate cancer is the most common malignancy.

  • Prostate cancer is, unfortunately, the second most frequent cause of cancer-related death among men.

  • It is estimated that 200,000 new cases of prostate cancer were diagnosed and approximately 32,000 deaths were reported from this disease in the United States in 2002.

  • The key to cure and long-term survival is early diagnosis of prostate cancer, which is a fairly easy procedure.

  • The importance of prostate cancer awareness among men in the United States and elsewhere is critical in overcoming the significant morbidity and quality-of-life issues associated with this disease.
