Techniques in PhysiologyGPSO 607Techniques in Physiology is a core course in the Graduate Physiology curriculum. The course is a year long course and comprises three 2-month research rotations through laboratories selected by the student. The rotations are designed to introduce new students to basic concepts and methodologies in physiological research and to provide the opportunity for students to work with potential research advisors. For students who either have had previous research experience or have already chosen an advisor, the rotation will provide increased breadth to their research abilities. The rotation laboratories will be chosen by the student and should complement the major research interests of the student. Students will be assigned a "project" and will be given readings of relevant background literature. Students will be expected to participate in their project actively either as an experimenter or observer, as determined by each faculty member. |
