Additional information regarding our Neonatology Rotation:
The Level III-regional NICU at the Tulane-Lakeside campus currently has a bed capacity of 24. Plans are developing to expand and modernize the NICU in 2009. As a regional unit, we have the capability of high frequency oscillatory ventilation, inhaled nitric oxide, CVVH and hemodiialysis in neonates, as well as ECMO backup. In September 2008 we will open the Pediatric / Neonatal Cardiac unit on the fourth floor of the downtown Tulane Hospital for Children Campus. With our Pediatric Cardiology faculty and Pediatric CT surgeons, we will offer care to the most complex congential cardiac anomalies. Our Neonatal Transport Team is ready to transport any neonate from Louisiana and surrounding states to Tulane Hospital for the highest levels of Neonatal Intensive Care.
