Electives
The Tulane / Ochsner Pediatric Residency Program provides seven months of electives (one in the first year, two in the second, and four in the third year of the program). These may be taken in any pediatric medical or surgical subspecialty, and at any of our associated sites. Research with faculty members is encouraged and may occur as an elective.
The Tulane School of Public Health faculty, as well as the nearby Louisiana State Department of Health, offer additional possibilities for clinical or research experiences. Electives are standardized or may be customized to meet the needs of individual residents.
