1. Goals

1.Foster interest among students who are contemplating a career involving the care of newborns, children, and adolescents
2. Provide the student who wishes to pursue further graduate training in the care of pediatric patients with the knowledge and skills necessary to continue his or her education
3. Provide the student who plans to pursue career opportunities in fields not primarily involving pediatric patients with the general knowledge and skills that such a physician should have in order to care for the occasional child he or she may see.
4. Develop the attitudes necessary for an individual to become a compassionate, ethical, and trustworthy physician who recognizes and respects the responsibility they assume in the care of their patients.
