Cesar D. Fermin - Born 12-30-50. Hispanic - US citizen, three children.
BS Science-Education, 1974; MS Cell biology, 1977; Ph.D. Biology 1981.
Post Doctoral 1981; Assist. Prof. 1983; Assoc. Prof. 1988; Tenure 1991; Prof. 1995.
Fluent in English & Spanish & understand Portuguese, French & Italian.
- Interest: To further develop previously gained experience in teaching, administration and/or research within or outside academia.
- Strengths: Extremely organized, punctual, resourceful and a team player. A problem solver with or without technology. Love challenge and go beyond the call of duty to accomplish tasks. Excellent presentation skills in front of an audience.
- Weakness: Would do more than others for the same chore. Written reports require proofing.
- Instrumentation: Electron & light microscopy (bright, fluorescent, interference contrast), photomicrography and filtration. Video imaging with PC or Macintosh plataforms.
- Skills: Administration of large grants, experimental design, data analysis, grant application preparation, desk top publishing, computer graphic design and implementation. Quality control and assurance including biosafety measures.
- Authored hundreds of reports and lectured nationally and internationally. Held dozens of private and federal funded projects. Advised dozens of scientific projects. Member of dozens scientific groups.
- Served in NIH review groups, advisory boards and discussion panels, reviewed manuscript for dozens of scientific journals.
- Excellent health, non-smoker. Dedicated father and husband. Avid tennis player, enjoy gardening.
