| Fellowship in Dermatopathology Description: The program is designed for individuals with a background in pathology or dermatology for a career in dermatopathology. This is achieved principally through daily rotation between dermatopathology and dermatology or anatomic pathology disciplines based on the trainees background. The fellowship offers an a well balanced case load of inflammatory dermatosis, through our affiliate with Charity Hospital of Louisiana, and neoplastic skin conditions. Fellows are expected to review all cases prior to sign out including a large number of outside consultations. Additional training in immunodermatology and molecular diagnostics is offered. The trainees are expected to participate in several joined dermatology, and dermatopathology conferences, both institutional, and local. Opportunities for training in basic and transitional dermatologic or cancer research are encouraged through the availability of a well equipped molecular research laboratory. The individuals are expected to fulfill the requirements for the American Board of Dermatopathology at the end of their training period. Requirement: Applicants must be Board eligible or certified in anatomic / anatomic and clinical pathology or dermatology. Applications are accepted until June for those interested in positions for July of the next year. Interviews are accomplished during the months of September and October.
