The training environment at Tulane provides one of the most diverse residency experiences in the country. Residents are exposed to a variety of primary and tertiary health care systems, two primary care regional hospitals and two private hospitals. Every effort is made to assist the house officer in proceeding successfully through each year of the training program and to expose him/her to the full range of opportunities in the specialty, including research investigation and other academic pursuits.
The Department is responsive to the ever-changing needs of its house officers both professionally and non-professionally. We continue to revise our educational programs to meet changing requirements and opportunities. House officers may take advantage of the renowned Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine, which offers opportunities for both curricular work and research programs. Additionally, the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is undergoing a period of expansion and upgrading and is looking to its house staff for future faculty.
The faculty in our department continues to pursue excellence in teaching, patient care and research. We are in search of uncompromising individuals who seek a residency education that prepares them to become leaders in their chosen field. We are hopeful that you are one of those individuals.
