Admissions Requirements
Applicants to Tulane University School of Medicine should have completed, or be in position to complete before matriculation, the following courses:

* Three hours of biochemistry can be used to substitute for three hours of organic chemistry.
Prequisites must be taken at a U.S. accredited college/university and not be taken on a pass/fail basis. The Admission Committee at Tulane strongly encourages applicants to be eclectic in their selection of undergraduate courses and majors. The vast majority of successful applicants have taken a number of humanities and/or fine arts courses. While the majority of Tulane medical students have chosen either biology or chemistry as their undergraduate majors, about one third have majored in other disciplines, including, but not restricted to, anthropology, English, foreign languages, history, music, and physics.
