Axial CT scans at the level of the perimescencephalic and the suprasellar cisterns reveal subarachnoid hemorrhage within the CSF cisterns, seen as high density. These are typical findings of subarachnoid hemorrhage where blood is seen as hyperdensity, whereas normal CSF is usually low density.
