This is a coronal section of the brain through the midportion of the thalamus.The brain shows diffuse cerebral swelling and effacement of the sulci. There is also right displacement of the cingulate gyrus of the left hemisphere. This displacement represents subfalcine herniation. Diagnosis: Subfalcine herniation.
