A 35-year-old alcoholic is found to have:

Total bilirubin0.6 mg/dl(0.2-1.0)
AST75 IU/ml(<40)
ALT74 IU/ml(<40)
ALP435 IU/ml(<85)
GGT59 IU/ml(<40)

The prothrombin time is 15 seconds (control = 11 sec); albumin is normal. How can these results be explained?
