Analysis for ACTH, Cortisol, and Aldosterone

The patient showed laboratory signs of both mineralocorticoid and thyroid deficiency. Autoimmune processes directed toward the thyroid and adrenal may occur in combination, so ACTH and the adrenal steroids were measured to confirm the diagnosis of mineralocorticoid deficiency and evaluate the possibility of accompanying glucocorticoid deficiency.

                       Patient Reference
ACTH (P) 100 pg/ml 10 - 50
Cortisol 0800 hr (S) 10 ug/dl 12 - 26
Aldosterone (P) 7 ng/dl 7 - 24
