Chief cells - secretion of PTH

• Chief cells - secretion of PTH

• Pale, eosinophilic cytoplasm (contains glycogen + fat)

• EM: secretory granules in the cytoplasm

• Clear cells - chief cells whose cytoplasm packed with glycogen

• Oxyphyl cells: appear after puberty, larger than chief cells, numerous mitochondria. Do not secrete PTH
