rapidly progressive glomerulonephritis
Here's a kidney with a very different appearance, the kidney of
rapidly progressive glomerulonephritis. This is a large pale kidney.
It measures 9 or 10 cm from pole to pole the surface is pale and
smooth, very different from the kidney of chronic glomerulonephritis
but with a very poor prognosis nonetheless. These patients usually
die within 3 to 12 months after the diagnosis is made.
