S13C4bP2b-Atypical Histiocytosis

S13C4bP2b-1 (same Case as photos in Chapter S13C4aP2b): In this portion of a nodal component, the histiocytes are atypical and pleomorphic; there are scattered giant cells. Lymphocytes and eosinophils are admixed among the atypical cells.

S13C4bP2b-2: In this field, the sheet-like patterns are interrupted by irregular zones of fibrosis. An atypical mitotic figure is represented near the left margin of the field.

S13C4bP2b-3: Nuclei are pleomorphic. A nucleus at the extremity of the green arrow is deeply groved.

S13C4bP2b-4: A nucleus to the left of center, and another near the top, of the field show a characteristic deep groove.

S13C4bP2b-5: Many of the tumor cells are immunoreactive for S-100 protein.

S13C4bP2b-6: Dendritic cells to the right of the field are immunoreactive for Kp-1. A red arrow identifies a deeply notched nucleus of a tumor cell.
