SextrC17P1-1: The papillary dermis is widened and edematous. The reticular dermis also is edematous; collagen bundles are thin and
loosely spaced. Centrally, a vessel is dilated; endothelial cells are swollen but intact. The vessel is outlined by deposits of fibrin. There are perivenular infiltrates of neutrophils, lymphocytes, and histiocytes.
The infiltrates extend from the perivascular spaces into the reticular dermis among collagen bundles (Behcet’s syndrome). The process is a neutophilic and histiocytic vasculitis and collagenosis.
