S5C22P15-Erythema Dyschromicum
Perstans

S5C22P15-1: Vacuolar changes are present on both sides of the basement membrane (green arrows) in this lesion of EDP. A red arrow identifies a migratory histiocyte in the basal layer of the epidermis, among basal keratinocytes. A red arrow also identifies a migratory histiocyte in the dermis on the left.

S5C22P15-2: Spotty lichenoid changes at the dermal-epidermal interface (green arrows) and a prominent melanoderma are the features in this lesion of EDP.

S5C22P15-3:  At a higher magnification, vacuolar changes at the dermal-epidermal interface and irregular pigmentation of the basal layer of the epidermis are features. The basal unit of the epidermis is thin. Melanophages are prominent in perivascular spaces and among collagen bundles of the upper portion of the reticular dermis.
