S11C31P26-Hand-
Foot-Mouth Disease (con't)

S11C31P26-1: To the right, there is a lytic defect at the dermal-epidermal interface. Centrally and to the left, there are irregular clusters of necrotic keratinocytes. Lymphocytes and migratory histiocytes are present among the necrotic cells. Some of the relationships might be characterized as satellite cell necrosis (hand-foot-mouth disease).

S11C31P26-2: Small acidophilic droplets in the cytoplasm of some of the keratinocytes are compatible with intra-cytoplasmic inclusions. Some of the nuclei show homogeneous, pale acidophilic deposits, compatible with inclusions.

S11C31P26-3: In this area, showing ballooning degeneration and individual cell necrosis, there are intra-nuclear and cytoplasmic inclusions (hand-foot-mouth disease).
