Benign Hematology Conference

47yo BM with H/O of a congenital hemoglobinopathy who had cp, enlarged
liver, arthritis, presents with mild anemia. He was treated with desferroxamine & subsequently with phlebotomy.
-
85yo WF with RCA stent for MI placed on Integrillin/Lovenox/Plavix and ASA. Had intra aortic balloon pump placed during post-op period. Platelets that were normal dropped acutely within 3-4 days of stent. Pt develped large local hematoma and GI bleeding.
