Cancer Crusaders "Celebration of Life" Luncheon & Fashion Show

Fifteen cancer survivors will be honored at the annual "Celebration of Life" Luncheon & Fashion Show organized by the Cancer Crusaders, a non-profit, all-volunteer group. Cancer Crusaders proceeds are donated annually to the two major medical schools in New Orleans -- Louisiana State University and Tulane University -- for cancer research. Since 1978, funds raised have helped these institutions complete worthwhile studies and begin data collections on possible theories that seek to unravel the complexities of cancer. The organization is approximately 450 strong and pays no salaries. The group raises its funds through four annual functions: Cancer Survivor's Luncheon and Fashion Show, Annual Tennis Tournament, the Cancer Crusaders Gala, and memorials (donations made to Cancer Crusaders in honor of family members / friends or in memory of deceased loved ones). Last year, Cancer Crusaders donated $41,250 to the Tulane Cancer Center.
