NFL "Gridiron Glamour" Celebrity Luncheon & Fashion Show
Location: Grand Ballroom, Sheraton Hotel New Orleans,
500 Canal Street, New Orleans
"NFL Gridiron Glamour" is an annual celebrity fashion show, luncheon, & auction featuring a couture presentation by Saks Fifth Avenue modeled by NFL players, other professional athletes, and entertainers. The event is organized by the HollyRod Foundation, which was established by actress Holly Robinson Peete and NFL quarterback Rodney Peete to promote awareness and financial support for health and wellness issues, including breast cancer research. One of two fashion show fundraisers organized by HollyRod annually, "NFL Gridiron Glamour" always takes place in the Super Bowl host city on the Saturday prior to the big game, and a local beneficiary is always chosen to receive a portion of the proceeds from the event. This year the beneficiary is the Tulane Cancer Center. Local breast cancer survivor and New Orleans public school teacher Ronella Stamps will be honored at the event, along with Geraldine "Brick House" Barber, who is also a breast cancer survivor and mother of twin sons who both play in the NFL.
