Criteria For Promotion
Clinical Track
Faculty
- Clinical Ability
To document clinical excellence, the Personnel and Honors Committee
looks for the following evidence of regional as well as local recognition:
- Statements
from the candidate's peers, including his/her
department chairman and division chief; chairmen of other
departments within the base hospital; physicians in his specialty
at other affiliated and regional hospitals.
- Membership
in local, national, and international professional
organizations and participation in their meetings.
- Election to
honorary offices, and recipient of awards of merit
from local, national and international professional organizations.

Participation,
as invited speaker, in local, national, and
international clinical symposia, seminars and courses, and
contributions to the literature.
- Regular attendance
at departmental functions, e.g. grand rounds,
morbidity or mortality conferences and departmental meetings.
- Teaching
- Presentations
and Publications
Submission of copies of publications most representative of the candidate's
scholarly accomplishments, if available. The candidate should provide
at least 2 selected publications, if available, to be reviewed by the
Personnel and Honors Committee. The publications should be selected
by the candidate and the Departmental Chairman.
